EUR/CNH is an exchange rate that specifies how many CNH(Chinese Yuans) can be converted into one EUR (Euro), therefore the base currency is EUR and the price currency is CNH. If this rate declines, it means that CNH appreciates relative to EUR and if this rate increases it means that the CNH depreciates against the EUR. There are many macroeconomic factors/events (fundamentals) that affect EUR/CNH exchange rate, which are usually common in both countries. Some of the most notable factors/events are GDP, Inflation or Consumer Price Index (CPI), Interest Rates and other monetary policies applied by central banks. Regarding the trade relationship between Europe and China, the latter imports 5.9% of Germany’s total exports, whereas Germany imports 10% of China's total exports. The largest component of Germany's exports is vehicles and machinery whereas China's largest export components is electricals and electronic equipment. Any significant shifts in the trade relationship between the two regions and changes in the values of the aforementioned components are some of the factors that could have a material impact on the pair.
