XAU/XAG is a CFD pair or Fusion asset that mirrors a long-short strategy involving two commodities, Gold (XAU) and Silver (XAG). Like currency pairs, this CFD pair allows simultaneous buying of one commodity and selling the other, using half the margin required for what would otherwise be two separate trades. The CFD pair measures the relative performance between the two commodities, making it unaffected by the overall market direction. A long (buy) trade profits if Gold gains relative to Silver, Silver weakens relative to Gold, or both events occur simultaneously. Conversely, a short (sell) trade profits if Gold stock weakens relative to Silver, Silver gains relative to Gold, or both events occur simultaneously.
